SHEEP WORRYING INCIDENT |
||
|
#RuralCrime | This evening, officers attended a field in Rawnsley where a sheep has sadly died following a sheep‑worrying incident.
This is completely unacceptable. The incident has caused significant stress and worry to the farmer, who is now understandably fearful for the safety of his remaining livestock.
@StaffordshireRuralWildlifeCrime officers will be increasing patrols in and around the area to help prevent further incidents and to support our farming community.
Please help us prevent this. Sheep worrying doesn’t just mean attacking - it can include dogs chasing, barking at, or even being loose in a field with livestock. Please:
🐑 Keep dogs on a lead near livestock
📞 How to Report
If you witness sheep worrying or see dogs loose in fields:
➡️ Call 999 if a livestock attack is in progress
Photos, descriptions and locations (especially WhatThreeWords) are extremely helpful.
Our rural community relies on the care of responsible dog owners. One moment of negligence can cause serious injury, and emotional and financial impact to farmers.
Thank you for helping us protect our countryside. 🚜🌾
